You Don’t Need It – Stencil

You Don't Need It Stencil

Just made available a stencil version of our “You Don’t Need It” Sticker. The file is a pdf, which you can scale to any size you like. Glue the paper printout to something heavier, like a manilla folder. Then carefully cut out the black areas with an X-acto knife. The stencil is then ready to use. Send us photos of your results and we will post them on the site.

An alternative to going through the effort of gluing the paper printout to a heavier paper (if you want to put the stickers up quickly) is matte medium. Mmmmmm, my favorite. All you need is a bottle of matte medium, an old credit card or some sort of card like that, and your paper cut outs. When you find an ad to target simply smear some matte medium on both sides of the paper using the credit card, smack the paper with wet glue where ever, and smooth over the surface with the card. Voila! If you do it well and use enough glue, your pasting will be waterproof for a little while too. Basically a quick, cheap, and sly version of wheat pasting…but better ’cause you don’t have to make the wheat paste and you can put the matte medium over the face of the sticker since it dries clear unlike wheatpaste.

Billboard ads for Hummers have started appearing here in Perth–my local billboard included. In Australia we have an expression ‘bummer’ for bummed out (is it in th US too??) See what I’m getting at ? Nice rhyme and an easy paint touch up. Just got to get a mask and some courage now.

….have a look at the one on Barrack/Wellington. Someone has done the deed of paint bombing it – about time. People need to let Hummer know it’s not acceptable to create such disgusting machines in an age of global warming, oil wars and militarization.

Cut the stencil out on the bottom of a paper bag large enough to hold it. Carries your paint and everything quietly.
